For me, after 13 years of entrepreneurship, the intense fear is replaced by the constant hum of high anxiety. So, it’s not all that bad once you get used to it :-).

The high is when your vision & plan finally come together. The business starts to work. Then, you can look around and see customers, revenue, profits, employees…a real business. In some cases, your business may have helped transform or create an industry. You realize, this business wouldn’t exist if I didn’t have the guts and fortitude to get through the dark times. You realize you really have made a dent in the universe. It’s an incredibly satisfying feeling of accomplishment.

Perhaps that’s why I keep coming back to it. With all the fear, anxiety and personal struggles, there is also energy, excitement, exhilaration and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve conquered your fears and have done the impossible.
